As a professional services firm our Butler, Pennsylvania office is seeking a Plumbing Designer to complement our team.

As a Plumbing Designer you will work with direct supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, design, and specification for plumbing systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key Responsibilities Provide plumbing system design for healthcare, commercial, education and laboratory buildings, including existing renovations / retrofits.
Assists in development and implementation of design concepts associated with water, sanitary, storm medical gases, and laboratory plumbing systems.
Participate in project meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Assist in developing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule.
Participate in the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
Perform calculations for plumbing systems using company standard software.
Review drawings and documents for presentation and accuracy prior to submittal.
Work on multiple projects at one time.
Performs other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Conducts field surveys of existing conditions of building spaces.
Prepares field reports and punch lists.
Your Capabilities and Credentials Knowledgeable of the International Building Codes and experienced in working with various local and state codes throughout the country.
Knowledge of plumbing systems means and methods, material, and industry standards.
Understanding of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Requires understanding of Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering and Working toward Licensure or Certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
